Imaskopi was founded in 2020 by Nelly Skog, a student of fashion history and gender studies. Imaskopi creates non-gendered hand-knitted pieces. These garments question and challenge norms of aesthetics and gender, as well as traditions of handicraft. The garments are made in Imaskopis basement studio in Stockholm. The production time for a hand-made Imaskopi piece is between 6 and 30 hours. Imaskopi believes in the benefits of slow handicraft and in making garments with a long life that will be loved and taken care of.
