“No Exit” – the unforgiving silver earring in the shape of a fish hook, which is easy to put in, but harder to get out – set off Makoto Horisaki’s career. Today, the brand Horisaki combines his Japan-inspired jewellery with the fascinating millinery work of his wife Karin. And much like “No Exit”, it is hard to get a Horisaki product out of your mind once you’ve seen it. Hats in various skins are treated in traditional ways, burned then water-molded which give them a fascinating, raw appearance "à la Dickens". Based in the countryside in the south of Sweden, all their products are designed and handcrafted and always well thought through – from every detail to the outer, aesthetic packaging. Horisaki has gained a devoted following and is represented in high-end fashion shops all over the world.
