Collection: Post Archive Faction
A self-taught fashion designer with a background in industrial design and UX. Hitech fabrics and new ways of pattern construction “on the outskirts of fashion”. Add a special store, muted colour palette and an apocalyptic general feel and the comparison to 1990s’ British groundbreaking brand Vexed Generation (back in 2026!) is not far away. However, the brand with the more cryptic name, Post Archive Faction (PAF), is not British but Korean. Dongjoon Lim and Sookyo Jeong started their brand in 2018, and they have since been a semi-finalist for the LVMH Prize and done collabs with On and Clarks Originals. Their whole design philosophy is also “post archive” since they reuse earlier collections and reconstruct garments in new, often asymmetric ways. It’s unrelated to seasons and collections are numbered like software updates – 2.0, 2.1 etc. All this results in modern uniforms, or rather multiforms, which they classify as “Right” (least radical), “Center” (neutral) or “Left” (most radical). “Archive means timeless, for me” says Lim. (And, in true spirit of their name, the store in Seoul was built on the grounds of the old factory where their garments were sewn.)
