Collection: Extreme Cashmere
“You should not push. If you’re pushing, it’s not going to work anyway.” says Saskia Dijkstra, founder of Dutch knitwear brand Extreme Cashmere in 2016. And she did not push her brand in the beginning – she just wanted to make the best cashmere sweater possible without concessions, in unseen colours. A little like a sartorial friend for every body that would cheer you up when worn. So, a unisex, unisize, seasonless brand without logotype or other branding (apart from the odd street-cast New York campaign and smaller food happenings). But in the end a telling company name was found, a suitable Amsterdam office with space for joint lunches, and a consumer information “flag” on every garment was added – stitches of the colours that a particular garment version is available in. The care label is also quite extensive, because Extreme Cashmere does not only want to make cashmere cool again, but also make sure that customers take care of their garments, whether they be in 100% cashmere, extra fine cashmere or mixed with cotton or elastane. (And yes, they are machine-washable!)
