Collection: James Perse
Sports and fashion belong together nowadays. And for James Perse, former surfer and hockey player, it started with the baseball cap he designed in 1991 for his father’s shop, the groundbreaking Maxfield in LA. T-shirts in bleached out colours followed the cap in 1994 and gained a following. Later came a womenswear collection which developed into two lines: “Standard James Perse” (for high-quality basics) and “James Perse Los Angeles” (ready-to-wear items). Menswear and a line for babies and children were next. Trained in architecture and fashion, James’s philosophy is “low maintenance high fashion”. Like fashion in general, James Perse is about blends: luxe and causal, sophistication and simplicity – or between “the elegant and the clean-line” as they themselves call it.
